To Activate Readability Checker

Step one:

Open Microsoft word and click on the options tab at the bottom left.

 

 

Step Two:

After clicking options it will open a new window, on the list of options on the left click on proofing.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Step Three:

Once you have clicked on proofing the main portion of the window will show you all the options that are available. The one we want today is “show Readability statistics” click on the check box, a tick will indicate it is active.

 

Step 4:

When you have the check mark in the box click “OK” at the bottom right to close this window.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

How to use the Readability Checker

Step one:

Click review on the top bar

Step Two:

Click on “Spelling and Grammar”, the very left-hand button.

 

Step Three:

This will open a pane one the left side of the document and suggest any spelling or grammar alterations. You can either choose one of the suggestions or click “Ignore Once”. You will have to go through all of these before you can see the statistics.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Step Four:

Once the last Spelling or Grammar suggestion has been dealt with the pane will disappear and a new window will open with the statistics on.
